Yiannis Papadopoulos
“The only limitation is our imagination”
Raised in a family of musicians, Giannis Papadopoulos began playing guitar at the age of four. He is an internationally acclaimed lead guitarist and music educator (MMus) with 23 years of teaching experience.
He is the lead guitarist of internationally renowned rock artist Scott Stapp (Creed), having performed on worldwide stadium and arena tours, as well as a composer and guitarist on the album Higher Power (2024). He is also a member of the progressive/fusion trio Royal Time Machine, alongside Michael Evdemon and George Kollias, and has collaborated on live and studio productions with leading artists from the Greek and international music scene, including Anna Vissi, Goin’ Through, and the Kamerata Orchestra in a special collaboration at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron).
He combines extensive live performance experience with a strong background in music education and authorship. He is an official artist for leading guitar education platforms JTC Guitar and LickLibrary, and the author of the instructional methods Fretboard Concepts and The Electric Guitar Technique Workout. He has also conducted masterclasses in the United States, Germany, Greece, and Cyprus.
His teaching focuses on:
- Technical Development: Alternate, Economy, Sweep and Hybrid Picking, Legato, Tapping, expressive Bending and Vibrato.
- Musicality & Improvisation: Scales, Chords, Modern Harmony, and Fretboard Visualization.
- Applied Musicianship: Rhythm Reading, Songwriting, Studio Recording, and Guitar Production.
- Tone & Gear: Guidance on rig setup, digital modelers (Fractal, Kemper, Neural, etc.), and analog equipment.
