Rodanthi Daskalaki
She was born in Heraklion, Crete.
She began her musical studies at the age of seven at the Heraklion Conservatory, “Musikos Syllogos Apollon,” studying piano under composer and music educator Rika Deligiannaki, and harmony under conductor Georgios Kaloutsis and music educator Stella Kokolaki.
Until graduating from high school, she was a member of the Children’s and Youth Choir of the Municipality of Heraklion, under the direction and guidance of Katerina Tsagkaraki and Georgios Kaloutsis. With the choir, she participated in performances both in Greece and abroad.
She continued her studies in Athens, where, alongside completing her studies at the Department of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, she continued her training in piano and chamber music at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, studying with Meropi Kollarou and Sokratis Anthi respectively.
She completed her classical piano studies at the Contemporary Conservatory of Crete, in the class of distinguished pianist and music educator Patricia Arenas, earning a Piano Diploma with the highest distinction (First Class Honours, unanimously awarded), First Prize, and a Gold Medal for Outstanding Performance.
She has participated in piano masterclasses with distinguished soloists including Aliki Vatikoti, Nelli Semitecolo, Alexia Mouza, and others.
Alongside completing her classical studies, she studied contemporary piano with Antonis Tsikandylakis and attended the Contemporary Singing class of Konstantina Palli at LAB Music Education.
She has participated in LAB Camp, attending seminars with musicians and educators including Nikos Sidirokastritis, Grigoris Ntanis, Michalis Evdaimon, and others, as well as contemporary singing seminars with Idra Kayne and Sofia Sarri.
She has attended singing technique and pedagogy seminars with Paul Farrington, Vocal Health & Technique Consultant at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, as well as individual masterclasses with him.
She has also attended seminars in vocal technique and interpretation with vocal teacher Panos Dimas and continues her vocal studies in the class of Anna Maria Karkanιά.
She holds a Harmony Diploma with Distinction.
She has obtained Pedagogical and Teaching Qualification from the Department of Primary Education at the University of Crete.
She has also completed the lifelong learning programme Music Education in Early Childhood offered by the Department of Music Studies at the Ionian University.
She has worked as a substitute piano teacher at the Music School of Heraklion, as well as at the Music School of Chania, where she taught piano and choir.
Her artistic experience includes participation in instrumental ensembles, including a production of the opera The Magic Violin, as well as performances as a soloist with the Crete Youth Orchestra.
She has performed with various musical groups in Crete and Athens as lead vocalist and keyboardist, working across rock, soul, funk, and pop, with projects including The Muffins, Dirty Minds, The Short Stories, and others.
She is currently working with guitarist Apostolos Giasslakiotis on their first full-length album, featuring original compositions and self-produced material, which is expected to be released soon.
