Orestis Lazarou
Orestis Lazarou is a pianist and music educator with extensive musical training and teaching experience. He holds a Diploma in Classical Piano, graduating with the highest distinction (First Class Honours, unanimously awarded), under the guidance of Varvara Kremmyda. He continued his studies in advanced music theory, obtaining a Harmony Diploma in 2021 and a Counterpoint Diploma in 2025, both with distinction.
Alongside his musical studies, he completed the professional development program Music Education in Early Childhood at the Ionian University and attended a Special Education seminar at the University of Patras. He also holds a degree from the Agricultural University of Athens.
Since 2018, he has been teaching private lessons in classical piano, music theory, harmony, dictée, and solfège. Since 2020, he has also taught piano and music theory at the Byron Music School. He has worked as a vocal accompanist in both contemporary and classical repertoire and, since 2024, has taught music theory and keyboard at the 5th and 11th Primary Schools of Byron, as part of educational activities organized by their Parents’ and Guardians’ Associations.
Since 2025, he has been working as a Secondary Education Music Teacher at the Athens Model School, while also preparing students for entrance examinations to Music Schools.
His artistic activity includes performances as a solo pianist, participation in chamber music concerts, and collaborations across a variety of musical genres. Since 2025, he has been a member of the folk/rock band The Chained Magpie, performing at venues including AN Club and UnderAthens Association.
He has also contributed as a musician to the hip-hop album Anespero Fos by A. Giannoulakis (Vilon), performing on piano, melodica, and cajón. In parallel, he has explored original music composition and composed music for short films, combining his teaching career with a multifaceted involvement in contemporary music creation.
