Minas Vasilakis was born in Heraklion Crete, Greece in 1978.
He started learning the drums in 1992 at the Philharmonic Orchestra of Heraklion along with drums instructor Vangelis Tsangarakis and Katerina Tzortzakaki. He, there, was introduced to basic drumming techniques, reading and writing music. He studied there for about 3 years and was incorporated at the Philharmonic band until 1995 when he stopped due to other parallel studies.
He is a graduate student of Marketing of the T.E.I. of Athens.
In 2006 he started private lessons with the drums instructor/composer Alexander Drago Ktistakis for about a year and in 2007 he continued his musical studies on the drums at the former Modern Music School (Athens), now Lab Music Education, still with Alexander Ktistakis.
During the years of apprenticeship in Athens, he attended numerous seminars from elite greek and foreign musicians such as:
Mike Mangini, Benny Greb, George Kollias, Gavin Harrison, Victor Smolski, John Stavropoulos, Kosta Anastasiades, and many more....
Nevertheless, his energy, devotion and focus was given to rock and metal music that he loves the most.
He collaborated with various bands as recording and touring drummer within Greece and abroad, such as:
Marauder, 666packs, Mode Zero, Riverbed, Eselon, and many more.
Since 2011 he is a founding member of the doom metallers “DOOMOCRACY” having recorded 3 studio albums and having performed equally number european tours amongst numerous gigs in Greece and Europe.
