Michalis Karasoulis is a singer-musician with a clear orientation towards rock, blues and metal music, but also towards lyrical singing.
He was born in Athens in 1989. He began his studies in classical singing and melodramatic singing in 2008 with Stamatis Beris & Lydia Angelopoulou (Agia Varvara Municipal Conservatory & Philippos Nakas Conservatory). He attended a vocal seminar with Mechthild Stamatakis.
At the same time, in 2012, he began studying contemporary singing with Voula Amiradaki and then, as a scholar at the Athens Conservatory of Music Creation, he continued with Olga Tsouma. Since 2017, he has focused on studying contemporary singing techniques under the guidance of Margarita Papadimitriou. At the same time, he studied theory (Agia Varvara Municipal Conservatory & «Έμπνευση» Conservatory) and electric guitar with Sotiris Pomonis.
From a young age, he was a member of choirs, starting with the children's choir of Natasa Angelopoulou and then Stavros Piotopoulos. In 2018, he joins the vocal ensemble Voice Box with conductor Margarita Papadimitriou.
With Panos Dimas as his leading professor, he completed his studies in contemporary singing at the National Conservatory and the «Έμπνευση» Conservatory with honors.
He then furthered his teaching qualifications by completing the 5th Postgraduate Teaching Seminar at PDVS Academy.
As a lead singer, he is a member of the musical groups Battleroar, Sunlight, Demoralize and previously of SL Theory & It’s all about the Music.
He has a rich concert activity in various stages (Gagarin 205, Passport, Fuzz, Architecture, Technopolis, Kyttaro, Crow Club, Glass Music Theater and others) as well as in festivals in Greece and abroad (Rock Hard Festival Chania Rock Festival, Thunder Live in Athens, Soundart Festival, Voices of the Mist etc.).
In addition, he has taken part as a solo guest in various rock, blues and metal concerts and festivals (Out on the Streets-Tribute to Gary Moore, Rock in Dio, Rock ‘n’ Roll Children live etc.).
Regarding his discography as lead singer, he has the albums Petrichor, The Beginning Single, Progressively Dark (A Concert for Group and String Orchestra), Cipher and Out of Toys to his credit, while he has done Backing Vocals & choirs on albums by Innerwish, Rock ‘n’ Roll Children, Badd Kharma & the Magus.
In addition to his musical qualifications, Michalis Karasoulis holds a degree in Finance & Accounting from the Athens University of Economics and Business and a MICS title from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (United Kingdom).
