Marisa Athitaki
Marisa is a singer, pianist, and vocal coach with a multifaceted musical background and an active presence in the local music scene and music education. Her relationship with music began in early childhood, participating in municipal and conservatory choirs from the age of seven. At nine, she began studying classical piano and music theory at the National Conservatory of Athens, later advancing to higher music theory.
Her musical path was further shaped by her time at the Experimental Music High School & Lyceum of Pallini, where she immersed herself in a wide range of musical traditions and instruments, studying piano, tambouras, traditional percussion, and harmony, while actively participating in school bands as well as European and traditional choir ensembles. She went on to pursue her higher academic education at the Department of Music Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Parallel to her university studies, she specialized in jazz, graduating from the professional Jazz Voice program at the Athens Conservatory, where she focused on vocal technique, improvisation, piano, jazz harmony and analysis, and ensemble performance (bands).
Marisa has been working professionally in the music industry since the age of 16 (2008). Since then, she has been consistently active as a lead and backing vocalist in both live performances and studio recordings. She has performed at numerous music venues across Athens, as well as iconic cultural spaces. Among her most notable artistic projects are her participation in "Girl Talk" with the Dimitris Kalantzis Sextet at the Half Note Jazz Club (2019), her collaboration with Dimitris Kalantzis and the Athens Big Band at the Greek National Opera for the performance "That Old Feeling" (2019), and her appearance in the "Graveyard Caf茅 Band" with bijoux de kant at the TAF Foundation (2008).
