Marios Theofilatos is a pianist and musician with a strong theoretical background and many years of experience in music education. Having completed his studies in Music Technology and Acoustical Engineering at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, and holding a Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Music Technology and Contemporary Practices from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, he possesses a well-rounded understanding of music from both an artistic and technical perspective.
He holds diplomas in Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, and Wind Instrument Orchestration, and is currently in the final year of his piano studies at the National Conservatory. At the same time, he specializes in synthesizers and MIDI keyboards, as well as various audio processing software, with significant experience in the use of modern audio equipment and digital tools. His involvement in live performance is not limited to piano playing, but extends to combining sounds through digital media, creating multidimensional and contemporary musical experiences.
His teaching experience includes many years of working with students of all ages and levels, while he has also taught professional seminars in music technology. In piano lessons, he focuses on developing technical skills, rhythmic accuracy, and musical expression, placing particular emphasis on proper key placement in each piece to maximize musicality. At the same time, he encourages improvisation, fostering creativity and each student’s unique personal expression. He incorporates modern teaching methods and technological tools, emphasizing both contemporary education and a creative approach to music.
His professional experience as an active musician in various ensembles, as well as a sound engineer and composer, enriches his teaching with modern elements, offering his students not only musical knowledge but also a broader understanding of the role of the pianist in today’s musical world.
