Ioanna Tsomou
Your voice is not meant to fit in. It's meant to be recognized.
Ioanna Tsomou was born in Athens, Greece, and began studying classical piano at the age of five. She continued her musical education as a scholarship student in the “Little Musicians” program at the Athens Conservatoire, alongside studies in music theory.
At the age of seven, she joined the main choir of ROSARTE under the direction of Rozi Mastrosavva. Her first international distinction came at the age of nine when the choir received a gold medal at the World Choir Games in Riga.
During her studies at the Music Schools of Ilion and Athens, she became a member of Chóres and the Youth Opera under the direction of Marina Satti. During the same period, she trained in the youth program of the National Theatre of Greece and studied contemporary dance with Giannis Nikolaidis.
Alongside her vocal and theatrical training, she studied African percussion with Giorgos Fasolis, while specializing in traditional percussion instruments throughout her music school education. She later joined the Balkan music ensemble Makesomenoiz, a project of Agia Fanfara.
She was admitted to the Department of Music Studies at the University of Ioannina and graduated from the Professional Pop Vocals Program of Lab Music Education under the guidance of vocal coach Rebecca Georgiadi.
Today, she works as a vocal coach and music-and-movement educator in the Music4Kids program at Lab Music Education.
As an artist, producer, songwriter, and lyricist, Ioanna creates original music both for her own projects and in collaboration with other artists. Her solo project, ROSADENIA, blends contemporary pop, urban, and alternative influences with elements of traditional and world music. She has collaborated with Beyond and the EMERALD.
