Ektoras Remsak

Ektoras Remsak was born in Athens in 1996. He began his musical studies in classical piano but later shifted his focus to drums.

In 2014, he started his studies at the Ionian University in Corfu under the guidance of Vasilis Podaras (Billy Pod), while also studying with visiting professor Eric Ineke from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.

In 2016, his professor and mentor George Kontrafouris selected him to join his organ trio, *Kontrafouris Baby Trio*. Since then, they have performed at major festivals and clubs across Greece, including Marousi Jazz Festival, Ilion Jazz Festival, ISNF, Vinyl is Back, among others. He graduated from the Department of Music Studies at the Ionian University in 2020, specializing in Jazz Drums Performance.

Since then, he has been actively performing and recording on the Athens music scene with various ensembles across jazz, blues, funk, and traditional Greek music influenced by jazz aesthetics, collaborating with artists such as David Lynch, Thomas Meleteas, and Stamatis Kraounakis, among others.

In 2022, he graduated from the research-based Master鈥檚 program at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where he met the members of the band Merem and Mediterraneo ensemble, with whom he has since toured across Northern and Central Europe as well as Greece.
