Dimitris Kougiouroukis

Dimitris Kougiouroukis is a drummer born in Alexandroupoli, Greece. He began his musical journey at the age of six, studying drums, and later attended the Music High School and Lyceum of Alexandroupoli. Alongside his studies, he studied at the Phaethon Conservatory, where he focused on drums, classical percussion, music theory, and classical harmony, obtaining a Degree in Classical Harmony with distinction. He continued his musical development through private lessons and later graduated from the Professional Program of Lab Music Education in Athens.

During his teenage years, he made his first professional appearances, performing in live music venues in Alexandroupoli and the surrounding area. He has studied with renowned Greek drummers and educators such as Michalis Kapilidis, Alexis Makatselos, and Giannis Karakasidis. He has also participated in the Drum Camp organized by Lab Music Education, attending seminars and masterclasses with internationally recognized drummers, including Chris Coleman, Larnell Lewis, Stanton Moore, Keith Carlock, Ash Soan, Gergo Borlai, and Gregg Bissonette. Additionally, he has taken private lessons with Dennis Chambers and Stanton Moore.

He has collaborated with various musical ensembles, performing in live music venues in Athens and participating in studio recording sessions. His artistic activity covers a wide range of musical styles, including Jazz, Modern Jazz, Funk, Blues, Soul, R&B, Rock, and Brazilian Music. He also has experience in drum education, having taught students of different levels.
