Christos Serenes

Music is one of the most effective and meaningful ways to communicate with others and with your inner self.

STUDIES

Piano Diploma with unanimous distinction (Niki Poulimenou’s class, 2006) and Degree in Classical Harmony (Giorgos Sioras’ class, 2012) at the Athens International Conservatory. He also graduated from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2011).

PERFORMANCES / COLLABORATIONS

Collaborated with numerous Greek artists as a pianist and keyboard player, covering a wide range of repertoire, including Giorgos Dimitriadis, Onar, Theodosia Tsatsou, Vasilis Kazoulis, Marianna Toli, Keti Chomata, Rena Koumioti, Alexandra Koniak, Nefelopetra, Chromatic Sequence, Funktion, among others, performing in live stages, theaters, and music venues throughout Greece.

As a soloist, he collaborated with the Ilioupolis Philharmonic Orchestra, performing “Axion Esti” by Mikis Theodorakis (2008) and Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 22 by Camille Saint-Saëns (2009).

DISCOGRAPHY

Music and lyrics for the album “Lachio” by Alexandra Koniak (Polymusic, 2017), as well as the singles “Oso Zeis” (ft. Mironas Stratis), “Mono Esena” (Cobalt Music, 2020–2021), and “Alli Mia Fora” (FM Records, 2022), among others.

In 2024, he arranged seven cover versions of selected works by Mikis Theodorakis in a modern style for FM Records, performed by Alexandra Koniak in five different languages. Tracks include “Les Amants de Teruel”, “My Love”, and “Sogno di Libertà”, which received airplay in Greece and abroad.

He has composed music and written songs for numerous theatre productions and publications, including: “The Dragon” (E. Schwartz, 2012) and “Yerma” (F. G. Lorca, 2016), Argyroupolis Public Theatre Group, “La Tortuga de Darwin” (J. Mayorga), Alkmini Theatre (2013),

“The Frog That Jumped in the Swamp” (2015) and “The Fairytale of Princess Breath” (2017) by D. Mpousiou / Karidotsouflo, under the auspices of the Hellenic Thoracic Society.

Awarded for music composition in the film “The Man Who Fed His Shadow” by Marios Garefos at the 3rd International Digital Cinema Festival (2013).

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Has been giving piano lessons since 2004. Worked as a music teacher at a junior high school (Protipo School of Athens, 2012–2023). Served as piano accompanist at Elpida Zorba Ballet Dance Studio. Currently serves as director of bands and ensembles at Georgiou Zois School in Argyroupoli, working with children of all ages, choirs, and ensembles.
