Christos Kechris

Christos Kechris was born and raised in Nea Smyrni. At the age of 15 he began his studies in electric bass, modern harmony, ear training, music technology and piano at the Art Conservatory. At the age of 18 he began working as a professional musician.

At the age of 22, he moved to California with the aim of fulfilling his dream of studying in America. He studied full time at the Los Angeles College of Music where he was awarded a BA in music performance with special mention. He immediately decided to move to the United Kingdom to study Music Business at the Academy of Contemporary Music (BA Music Pop Arts).
He then returned to LA. He teaches at L.A.C.M. He records and plays all idioms with a main focus on jazz improvisation with artists such as Mike Miller, Tal Wilkenfeld, M. Shapiro, E. Spencer Lewis, Continuum, Dorian Holley, Mike Hughes among others.l

In 2007 he returns to his birthplace where he-as a full time musician -is involved in teaching, recording and performing, with a huge range of artists and idioms, either as a session musician or as a full time member of many famous bands and solo artists alike.

Since 2010 he has taught lectric bass, modern theory and harmony, improvisation as well as in the professional departments at LAB Music Education  - the largest and arguable the greatest network of conservatories in Greece.
